Biography
Dr. Ramesh Kumar Sahni is working as a scientist at ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal since January 2016 in the area of precision agriculture and farm mechanization. He received his B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering from College of Agricultural Engineering, RAU, Pusa, Bihar; M.Tech. in Farm Machinery and Power from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and Ph.D. in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from Washington State University, Washington, USA. He has been topper throughout his B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. studies. Before joining ICAR-CIAE, he worked in Tractor and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), Chennai in R&D division for 2.5 years on engines and accessories design. Mr. Sahni has published more than 25 research paper in peer reviewed journals, 3 conference paper, 1 book, 1 patent (applied), 7 technical/extension bulletins, 3 book chapter, 32 popular articles and 31 conference abstracts. He is a member of Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE) and American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). He is recipient of several awards including Netaji Subhas ICAR International Fellowships 2018-19, University Gold medal in B.Tech., Star Innovator Award 2013-14, TAFE R&D, Star Alumnus Award 2022 at CAE, RAU Pusa, Best agricultural equipment award in Nirmaan 2019, 3-minute thesis award at WSU and several best research paper awards in national/international conferences.
