Biography

Dr. Vinita Puri is the Clinical Director of Resilience Counseling and Coaching Services, where she provides psychotherapy, mediation, training, and coaching to a diverse clientele. In addition, she is an Adjunct Professor at Western State University, California, teaching in both the M.S. Psychology and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programs. Dr. Puri's academic credentials are extensive. She holds a PhD in Psychology, a Master’s in Criminological Research, a Master’s in Social Work, and a Specialized Honors B.A. in Sociology. She is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in both Ontario and British Columbia, and an Accredited Family Mediator (AccFM), reflecting her expertise in both clinical and mediation practices. Her professional engagements include serving on the Editorial Review Board for the International Journal of Psychological and Brain Sciences. She is also a key member of the Diversity Advisory Committee (DAC) for the Psi Chi International Honors Society in Psychology and serves on the Patient Research Advisory Board (PRAB) for the Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Centre at the University of British Columbia. In recognition of her significant contributions to human rights and global peace, Dr. Puri was named a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Diplomatic Mission for Global Peace in 2020. She was later appointed as an Eminent Ambassador for Human Rights and Peace by the International Human Rights Advisory Council and awarded an Honorary Doctorate for her outstanding service by the United Nations Diplomatic Mission for Human Rights. Dr. Puri is frequently invited as a guest speaker at events focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion. In 2023, she was appointed a Judge for the Shakti Film Festival in Vancouver and will serve as a Jury Member for MDC Globe International in India in January 2024.
