Biography

I hold a Ph.D. in Human Studies from Laurentian University, an interdisciplinary program with a strong emphasis on business and management perspectives. My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, followed by a Master of Business Administration (MBA), which deepened my expertise in accounting, finance, management, and strategic decision-making. I recently completed my postdoctoral research project at the Faculty of Management, Laurentian University, where I examined "The Motivations and Barriers of Entrepreneurs in the Farming Sector: The Case of Ontario.” This research evaluates Ontario farmers’ perceptions of success indicators and investigates key factors that explain, predict, and determine entrepreneurial success in the agricultural context. My doctoral research focused on the financial fundamentals of small and medium-sized organic farms, especially those supplying food directly or indirectly to consumers. This work integrates accounting, sustainability, and business strategy through an interdisciplinary lens. In addition to my research activities, I serve as an Adjunct Professor at International Business University, teaching a variety of accounting, finance and business courses. I strive to blend academic theory with practical industry experience to provide students with both technical knowledge and real-world insights. With over 25 years of diverse professional experience, I have worked extensively in auditing, accounting, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, organizational leadership, teaching, and research. My career spans national and international settings and includes roles in post-secondary education, private sector consulting, and applied research in accounting, finance and business-related disciplines. I am deeply passionate about applied research, interdisciplinary education, and bridging the gap between academia and practice. My ongoing goal is to contribute meaningfully to both academic scholarship and industry by sharing expertise, mentoring future students and professionals, and producing impactful research that supports sustainable business practices.
