Biography
Mr. Joburg Mahuyu is a Full-Time Research Fellow at Midlands State University, Gender Institute, Gweru, Zimbabwe. He is pursuing doctor of philosophy (DPhil) in Development Studies with the University of South Africa (UNISA). He is a researcher and consultant on developmental and educational issues. He was consultant to many domestic and international organisations such as International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada and Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA). Joburg Mahuyu has authored and published several articles on Gender, Technical and Vocational education and Training (TVET) in Africa, authored an accounting textbook used in secondary schools in Zimbabwe and a book chapter on diaspora remittance: challenges and opportunities for Zimbabwe. He is a qualified secondary teacher for Management of Business, Mathematics (Statistics) and Accounting. His research interests include gender studies, poverty, inequality, peace, conflict, educational issues, diaspora studies, disaster management, and livelihoods development.
