Biography

Brief Bio data of Dr. Pramod Katti Dr. Pramod Katti, basically Professor of Agricultural Entomology in the University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur, Karnataka and is presently on deputation to Environmental Management and Policy Research Institute, Bangalore as DIRECTOR (Research) under Ministry of Forest, Ecology and Environment, Govt. of Karnataka. He has completed his B.Sc. (Agri) with distinction and M.Sc. (Agri) in Agricultural Entomology with three Gold Medal from UAS, Bengaluru, Karnataka. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from UAS, Dharwad with 96.40% marks (9.64 / 10.00 OGPA) with research work on ‘Sunflower thrips and their relation in spread of necrosis virus’. He worked for 15 years as Scientist (Entomology) in AICRP (Sunflower) at MARS, Raichur and responsible for release of 20 technologies which have gone to Package of Practices and to the farmers adoption. He handled 21 different projects as PI and Co-PI worth of 1482 lakhs. He has more than 95 research papers in scientific journals. He has 30 years of experience in Teaching, Research, Extension, Publication and Administration. He guided 14 M.Sc. and 4 Ph.D students who have worked on various aspects of insect pest management. His major contribution as Extension Scientist and head of Krishi Vignan Kendra, Raichur was introduction of ‘Drill Sown Rice (DSR)’ in the command area of Raichur district in association with line departments during 2011 and later the technology has spread to more than 80,000 ha. in the area. Founder Editor of the Publication Centre of the University since November, 2013 and introduced a quarterly magazine in Kannada called “Krishi Pradeepike” which is having more than 2500 subscribers as on date. He worked as Public Relations Officer at University level and assisted the Vice Chancellor in day-to-day official activities for 7 years. He was the first Administrative officer of the University. After establishment of Internal Quality Assessment Cell at University, he became its first Director and was responsible for getting NAAC accreditation to the University along with 12B and 2F certification from UGC.Also worked as Nodal Officer of the University in coordinating with ICAR headquarters at New Delhi and responsible for building good rapport with ICAR and getting good grants to the University. He is also responsible for getting ICAR accreditation to the University in two cycles. Almost for two years served as the finance head (Comptroller) of the University. For brief period also worked as head of Project Planning and Monitoring Cell of the University. He is also responsible for establishment of Community Radio Station at Raichur Campus as coordinator and head. He is a recipient of the following awards from recognized Institutions and organizations. • Life Time Achievement Award from International Association for Research and Development Organization (IARDO) in an International Award Conference on Multidisciplinary Research and Latest Innovations held at Internal Centre, Goa on 28-10-2018. • National Education Excellence Award in a conference held at Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi conducted by Economic Growth Society of India on 4-04- 2019. • Outstanding Contribution to Science-2019 award in a conference held at Vijaya Park, Chennai on 17-11-2019 from Dr. B.V. David foundation. • Bharat Excellence Award in a conference held at India International Centre, New Delhi on 09-02-2020 from Friendship Forum of India. • Best Indian Golden Personalities Award 2020 in a conference held at India International Centre, New Delhi on 09-02-2020 from Friendship Forum of India. • Leading Educationist of India Award 2020 for outstanding individual Achievements by Ch. Randhir Singh Hon’ble Former Governor of Sikkim in a conference held at India International Centre, New Delhi on 09-02-2020 from Friendship Forum of India. • Eminent Scientist of the Year -2019 Award
