Biography
Tito Vagni is an Associate Professor of Cultural and Media Studies at Universitas Mercatorum of Rome. He has taught and conducted research at the University of Paris La Sorbonne, IULM University, the University of Tuscia, and the DTC Lazio Center of Excellence. He served as a consultant for the Extraordinary Commission of the Italian Senate for the fight against intolerance, racism, anti-Semitism, and the incitement to hatred and violence (Segre Commission). His primary research interests include the history, theory, and language of media, figures and myths of contemporary imagination, and the relationship between media and gastronomy. He is the editor of the "Culturologica" book series at Guerini e Associati. He has contributed to the gastronomic guides of L’Espresso and Il Resto del Carlino. He has published numerous essays and articles in Italian and international scientific journals. His publications include “Comunicazione come consumo” [with Nello Barile] (Bevivino Editore 2012); “Abitare “la TV. Teorie, immaginari, reality show” (Franco Angeli 2017); “L’influenza digitale. Studi, teorie e ricerche [with Maria Angela Polesana] (Guerini e Associati 2021).
