Biography

Dr. Leonie Brummer completed her PhD on the topic of digitally delivered feedback and feedback-seeking in education. Both the design factors of these environments and individual factors (intra- and interpersonal factors) were included, with a special interest in digital learning environments and the interplay between factors (e.g., individual factors, contextual factors). This interest in digital aspects was extended to societal impact in the form of digital literacy and digital citizenship, resulting in the development of the concept of digital awareness. Current research—besides her tasks as a teacher—includes examining the effectiveness of an e-learning module for academic skills in higher education and the role of self-efficacy. The e-module has been designed specifically for this purpose. Furthermore, Leonie works as a researcher and her task is to deriving a coding scheme for feedback requests. Additionally, she is exploring the latent construct for feedback literacy and feedback orientation alongside an assessment methodology in the form of comparative judgements for the quality of feedback requests.
