Safada Taghiyeva

Biography

Dr. Safada Tagiyeva is a microbiologist and biotechnology specialist with extensive professional experience in medical, veterinary, and aquaculture microbiology. She was born on 31 March 1972 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Her mother was a medical doctor and head of a major bacteriology laboratory, while her father was an educator. Growing up in a family that valued both science and education greatly influenced her academic and professional development. Dr. Tagiyeva completed her primary education in Ukraine and continued her secondary education in Baku, Azerbaijan. She earned her medical degree from the Faculty of Medical Prevention at Azerbaijan Medical University, Baku, Azerbaijan (1989–1995). Following graduation, she completed her medical internship at Turkmen State Medical Institute (1995–1996). In 2017, she began doctoral studies in Biotechnology at the Institute of Microbiology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Baku, Azerbaijan, completing the program in 2021 and currently awaiting the official award of her PhD diploma. Throughout her career, Dr. Tagiyeva has developed expertise in microbiology, biotechnology, molecular diagnostics, and laboratory sciences. Her professional competencies include polymerase chain reaction (PCR), enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), bacteriology, virology, genetics, laboratory quality management, and scientific project coordination. She has extensive experience working in international scientific collaborations, laboratory management, research activities, and educational initiatives. Dr. Tagiyeva is proficient in English and Russian and is a native speaker of Azerbaijani. She also possesses basic knowledge of Arabic and has working comprehension of Turkmen, Turkish, and Ukrainian languages.
