Biography
Dr. Ummar Atta, a distinguished scholar in the realm of forestry, holds a Ph.D. in Forestry with a specialization in Minor Forest Products and Utilization. His academic journey has been marked by exceptional achievements, including thrice qualifying the prestigious National Eligibility Test (NET). During his tenure of three years with an NMHS project, Dr. Atta made significant contributions to the documentation of numerous Non-Timber Forest Product (NTFP) species, thereby enriching the scientific understanding of these resources. His groundbreaking research culminated in publications in esteemed international and national journals, showcasing his expertise and dedication to advancing forestry knowledge. Dr. Atta's commitment to scholarly discourse extends beyond publications; he has actively engaged in workshops and conferences, where he shares insights and collaborates with fellow researchers to foster innovation in forestry practices. Currently serving as a Senior Researcher in the AYUSH department, Dr. Atta continues to leverage his expertise to explore the intersection of traditional medicinal practices and sustainable forestry, thereby contributing to both academia and societal well-being.
