Biography
I am Ayesha Aziz, Ph. D in Clinical Psychology, University of the Punjab, Lahore. Scholar at Centre for Clinical Psychology, University of the Punjab, Lahore. My PhD thesis is on Stigma and Discrimination about Depression and Efficacy of Intervention for Primary Care Staff".My previous study highlighted the need to integrate the concept of Mental Illness Stigma into a culturally competent practice for Primary care staff. based on these findings, I adapted the mhGAP-IG version 2.0 module of Depression to reduce Stigma and Discrimination among primary care staff. Professionally, I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Professional Psychology, at Bahria University, Lahore. My past experiences included lectureship as a permanent faculty member at Kinnaird College Lahore (2017-2020) and Lahore Leads University (2015-2016). I am committed to honoring and promoting students at all levels (undergraduate students, and graduate students). In this role, I work with faculty toward increasing diversity within the department on all levels as a collective goal and to ensure representation on all important committees within the department. I take a friendly approach to teaching, believing that my students are simply equals who have yet to gain the knowledge I can impart to them. I find this approach helps to break traditional “them” and “us” type barriers between students and their tutors. My research expertise includes mixed method research, qualitative and quantitative research. i am keenly interested in conducting interventions studies and RCT'S
