Biography

I am deeply committed to leveraging virtual services to foster academic and socio-emotional growth in individuals with autism. Believing in evidence-based practices, I advocate for the holistic well-being of families. My conviction in this approach stems from hands-on experience conducting and publishing research on virtual coaching for families with young children diagnosed with autism. Currently I am a doctoral candidate at George Mason University in Early Childhood Special Education. I've led and contributed to studies demonstrating the positive impact of virtual interventions with both children and families. From conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to data analysis and interpretation, I've been involved in every stage of intervention. I have also had the opportunity to disseminate findings via peer-reviewed journal publications as well as presenting on the topic at local, national, and international conferences. My expertise extends beyond virtual platforms. In clinical settings, I've worked with children aged 3-8 while also serving as an instructor for autistic young adults at the university level. Here, I developed tailored instructional strategies to empower students in various experiential learning endeavors. As a BCBA supervisor, I've mentored individuals striving for BCBA certification, guiding them through their professional journey with support and expertise. Drawing from a diverse background in the fire service spanning 25 years, where I've held roles such as Fire Lieutenant and Paramedic, I bring a unique skill set to my work. As a company officer, I oversee emergency incidents and station operations, ensuring the effective coordination and performance of department personnel. Through my combined experiences, I am dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with autism and their families while serving my community with integrity and expertise. I appreciate any opportunity to advocate for and support families with autistic children. I hope you see the value in how my experience can be an asset to the autism community. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you would like to talk further.
