Since 2003, he has been serving as a lecturer in Genetics at the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Agricultural University of Tirana. He obtained his Doctoral Degree in Agronomy Science from the Agricultural University of Tirana, with a Ph.D. thesis titled "Study of Genetic Diversity of Satureja montana L. in Albania" (2004–2008). He conducted his postdoctoral research under the title “Plant Breeding and Genetic Population; Biomass Production in Maize — Genomic-Guided Breeding of Energy Maize and a System-Oriented Analysis” at the Institute of Plant Breeding, Seed Science, and Population Genetics, University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany, from 2009 to 2010. Dr. Ibraliu is a senior researcher specializing in Genetic Diversity, Conservation, and the Utilization of Plant Genetic Resources, as well as Medicinal and Aromatic Plants.
