Biography
Dr. Humera Amin is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in Agricultural Extension, Sociology, Rural Development, and Public Health. She is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Extension at the University of Sargodha, where she has been contributing to teaching, research, and community development since 2021. With a career spanning nearly two decades, she has previously held key faculty positions in Sociology & Criminology and Agricultural Extension & Education, reflecting her multidisciplinary expertise and commitment to social and agricultural advancement. Dr. Amin has made significant scholarly contributions, publishing over 40 research articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals. Her work covers a diverse range of themes, including gender roles in agriculture, food security, climate-smart agriculture, rural livelihoods, public health, community empowerment, and socio-economic development. Her research has been widely recognized, appearing in prominent journals and international conferences. In addition to journal publications, she has also authored book chapters and served as an editor and reviewer for multiple Scopus-indexed journals, including those by Springer Nature. Throughout her career, Dr. Amin has contributed to several agriculture and development projects, including initiatives funded by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and the Australian Government, focusing on farmer capacity building, irrigation management, climate-smart agriculture, and rural women’s development. Her work has had a meaningful impact on rural communities, agricultural policy, and sustainable development practices in Pakistan. Dr. Amin has supervised numerous M.Phil and MSc research students, fostering academic growth and encouraging future research leaders. She actively participates in national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars, sharing insights on gender empowerment, sustainable agriculture, rural community development, and social wellbeing. With strong expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods, and a passion for improving the socio-economic conditions of rural populations, Dr. Humera Amin continues to play a vital role in advancing academic scholarship, community engagement, and sustainable agricultural development in Pakistan.
