Biography
Dr. Shafique Ahmad is a senior specialist in migration management, resettlement planning, and social safeguards, with over 15 years of field and research experience in large-scale development and infrastructure projects. He currently serves as Senior Migration Management Specialist at National Development Consultants (Pvt.) Ltd., where he leads multidisciplinary teams in implementing World Bank–funded resettlement programs, managing in-migrant workers, ensuring compliance with international safeguard standards, and conducting socio-economic impact assessments. Dr. Ahmad holds a PhD in Resettlement Science and Management from Hohai University, China, and advanced degrees in Agricultural Economics (BSc, MSc) and Sociology (MA) from institutions in Pakistan. His academic interests lie in involuntary displacement, land acquisition, livelihood restoration, and community engagement within the framework of sustainable development. He has authored peer-reviewed research published in SCI and SSCI-indexed journals, contributing to the global literature on development-induced displacement, social impact analysis, and project monitoring and evaluation. His professional background combines rigorous academic inquiry with practical implementation expertise, making him well-suited for manuscript reviewing in the areas of migration studies, development planning, social policy, and resettlement science.
