Biography

Professor Ni Zhiyong is mainly engaged in the molecular mechanism of plant response to abiotic stress, and has made a series of innovative achievements in the genetic mechanism and functional genes of drought and salt tolerance traits in crops. A number of important genes controlling drought and salt tolerance traits in crops were discovered and their functions and mechanisms were clarified, which deepened the understanding of molecular genetic regulation mechanism of drought and salt tolerance traits in crops, made contributions to the development of this field, and provided a number of candidate genes with clear functions for crop drought and salt tolerance breeding. He has published 146 academic papers in Plant Biotechnology Journal and other domestic and foreign journals, including 32 SCI papers and 21 SCI papers as the first and corresponding author. He has been invited to give presentations at international and domestic academic conferences for 13 times. Won the first Prize of Xinjiang Science and Technology Progress in 2011 (the 5th finisher), the third Prize of Leading excellent innovation achievements of Model Workers in 2023, the Excellent Innovation Achievement Award of Leading Innovation activities of Model Workers in 2021, the Advanced worker of the Autonomous Region, the 18th "Xinjiang Youth May Fourth Medal", the 9th Xinjiang Youth Science and Technology Award, The Excellent doctoral thesis Advisor of the Autonomous Region in 2022, the Innovation Studio of the employees of the Education and Science System of the Autonomous Region (model workers), the first, second and third prizes of the Natural Science Excellent Thesis Award of the Autonomous Region, and the First Prize of Xinjiang Science and Technology Progress in 2012 (second-level certificate). He has obtained 7 national invention patents, 4 utility model patents, 19 software Copyrights, 1 breeding variety, and 4 teaching materials. Selected as the "Tianshan Elite" Youth Science and Technology Top Talent (2022), Tianshan Youth Program Outstanding Youth (2018), There are 6 talent programs in the Autonomous region, such as the "10,000 Thousand Plan" Young Talents Reserve Candidate (2014), the Autonomous Region Excellent Young Scientific and Technological Talents (2015), Tianshan Talents (2017), and the Autonomous Region Excellent Postdoctoral Fellow (2015). He presided over 19 scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation, the Natural Science Foundation of the Autonomous Region Outstanding Youth Fund, the Tianshan Innovation Team of the Autonomous Region, and the major science and technology special topics of the autonomous region.
