Biography

Dr. Tamara Moten is an experienced educator, scholar, and educational leader with a strong background in elementary education, teacher preparation, and curriculum development. With extensive experience in higher education and work closely connected to K–12 contexts, Dr. Moten is deeply committed to supporting future educators as they transition from pre-service preparation to confident, ethical professional practice. Dr. Moten’s professional interests include teacher professionalism, curriculum design, culturally responsive pedagogy, and equity-centered instruction. She teaches senior-level elementary education courses that emphasize professional identity development, ethical decision-making, and practical readiness for student teaching and entry into the teaching profession. Her work prioritizes bridging theory and practice while preparing teacher candidates to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of diverse elementary learners.
