Biography
I am Dr. Safeer Uddin, working at Pakistan Agricultural Research Council Islamabad since May 2023. My current job main project is Plants abiotic stress resilience analysis, Tree nutritional therapies for improving nutrient accumulation, Tree physiology, Plant growth, Yield and Fruit Quality in fruit tree crops. I have a Ph.D. in Agriculture- Horticulture (Fruit tree species biodiversity) from university of Agriculture Pakistan notified on March 21, 2023. My Ph.D. work was mainly focused on selection of endangered forest tree species (Syzygium cumini) and its characterization on morphological, biochemical and genetic bases. I have my M.Sc (Hons.) degree also in Agriculture – Horticulture from University of Agriculture Faisalabad Pakistan. My master’s project was related to protocol development for aseptic cultivation of litchi (Litchi chinensis) cultivar Gola. Apical and axillary buds of litchi were raised on growth regulators fortified nutrient medium. During the year 2019 to 2021, I worked in Higher Education Commission Pakistan funded project titled “Selection and breeding of citrus rootstocks for drought and heat stress” which was related to citrus cultivars evaluation against the climate change based on morphological, physiological and genetic characters. According to this present position I am a fresh graduate and have experience working with fruit tree crops, plant physiology, characterization, phenology and in field and laboratory experiments. Additionally, my international training at Gulf Coast Research and Education Center, University of Florida in 2021 immersed me in advanced molecular biology and biophysical characterization (microscopy and spectrophotometric analyses).
