Biography

r. Victoria Opara, is currently a senior lecturer specialising in business and management at Bath Business School, Bath Spa University. She has a strong educational background, holding an MSc in international business management, an MRes in research methods within social sciences, and a PhD in Organisational and Business Psychology from the esteemed University of Exeter. Dr. Opara's research focuses on several critical areas in the field of gender studies and workplace dynamics. She is particularly interested in understanding the impact of identity and social context on gender differences and gender inequality, as well as advancing the progress of women in professional settings. Additionally, she explores the influence of ethnic identity on women's experiences in the workplace, examines the concept of workplace intersectionality, and investigates the importance of workplace diversity. Notably, Dr. Opara contributed her expertise to a significant project involving the benchmarking of Diversity and Inclusion reporting within FTSE 100 companies. This endeavor was commissioned by the Financial Reporting Council and conducted in collaboration with the University of Exeter Business School, resulting in a comprehensive report and consultancy recommendations. Dr. Opara's contributions to the field of gender and racio-ethnic identity studies have been recognised through her publications in renowned journals such as Gender Work & Organisation, Frontiers, Qualitative Research and Equality, Diversity and inclusion. Her research findings and insights offer valuable contributions to the ongoing discourse on equitable and inclusive work environments.
