Blerina Gjerazi

Biography

Dr. Blerina Gjerazi holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Journalism from New York University Tirana, awarded in 2007. In July 2016, she attained her Doctorate in Journalism/Mass Communication from the University of Tirana, with a specialization in "Public Relations in the Justice System." With over 12 years of professional experience, Dr. Gjerazi has occupied various pivotal roles in public administration, serving as the head of the public relations sector, media spokesperson, and head of the information and data analysis sector. She has collaborated extensively with international organizations such as the Council of Europe, European Commission, OSCE, and UNODC, contributing to projects focused on human rights and participating in inter-institutional working groups concerning Albania's European Union integration process. Her expertise extends to project management, curriculum and module design, assessment of university programs, and human rights advocacy. Notably, she served as the resident advisor for the "Reform in Prison System and Probation Service" Albania-European Union Twinning Project from December 2014 to September 2017. Since December 2020, Dr. Gjerazi has been employed as a full-time lecturer at Aleksandër Moisiu University in Durrës, within the Department of Political Sciences. She delivers courses on Media Management, News Reporting and Journalism Studies, Mediatized Conflicts, and Media, Politics, and Public Opinion. Additionally, she has been a part-time lecturer at the University of Tirana's Faculty of Social Sciences since 2016, teaching courses on Public Relations, and Political Communication in Mediatized Societies. Dr. Gjerazi's research interests encompass journalism, public relations, media, communication, social studies, and human rights. She actively participates in national and international scientific conferences and has authored numerous scientific publications featured in domestic and international scholarly journals. As an accomplished author, Dr. Gjerazi has published two books: "Mediatization of the European Union Integration Process" (2022) in Moldova, translated into 12 foreign languages, and "Public Relations: Roles and Responsibilities" (2020) in Tirana.
