Dr. Senay Alsan

Biography

Assoc. Prof. Şenay Alsan graduated from the Department of Archaeology and Art History at Mimar Sinan University. She completed her Master's degree in Art History (in English) at Istanbul Technical University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Art History. Her doctoral studies were conducted on Turkish Art at the Institute of Turkic Studies at Marmara University. She obtained her associate professorship in 2020. After working at Istanbul Bilgi University for 5 years, she worked at Haliç University from 2000 to 2021. Since 2021, she has continued her academic career at Topkapı University. She has held various administrative positions such as Vice Dean, Head of Graphic Design Department, Head of Main Art Branch, and Head of Cartoon and Animation Department. She has supervised numerous theses and taught undergraduate, graduate, and Art Proficiency courses. She has published numerous articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals, presented many papers at national and international symposiums/congresses, and has authored two books, one of which is in its 3rd edition, and contributed chapters to other books, all published by international publishers. She has conducted seminars and courses on art at institutions such as IFSAK and TİYSAV.
