Biography
Dr. Sisi Sung is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in International Business at the University of Dundee School of Business. An economist and author, Sisi is an award-winning scholar with research interests in gender and social economics, intersectionality of identities, and equity and inclusion in management diversity within multinational corporations. Sisi's research has been published in both English and Chinese. Her latest book, The Economics of Gender in China: Women, Work, and the Glass Ceiling (Routledge, 2022), has been acknowledged globally by prominent economists, sociologists, and management scientists. She is also a reviewer for several leading journals, and her work has been featured in popular media outlets such as Nikkei Asia and The New Books Network. Sisi has served as an advisor and expert, helping multinational corporations and international organizations advance diversity, gender equality, and inclusion through collaborative leadership trainings, employee surveys, and interviews. She also serves as an associate fellow of the Max-Weber-Kolleg, a visiting lecturer at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy, University of ErfurtUniversity of Erfurt, and a research fellow at Tsinghua University. Sisi received the SupChina Rising Star Award in Journalism and Academia for her professional contributions in the U.S.-China space. Her doctoral dissertation was awarded the Max-Weber-Preis. She also won the Outstanding Teaching Award from the University of Washington, Seattle. Sisi earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management in China, M.A. in Economics from the University of Washington in Seattle, United States, and graduated summa cum laude with a degree of Doctor rerum politicarum (Doctor of Economics) from Max-Weber-Kolleg, University of Erfurt in Germany.
