Biography
I am Dilpreet Singh Brar, pursuing Doctoral degree in department of Food Engineering and Technology, SLIET, Punjab, India. The area of Research is to develop AI-based methods to detect the adulteration in food products and validating the developed method with traditional sophisticated instrumental techniques. I Achieved my graduation degree in 2019 from Khalsa College Amritsar with BSc (Hons.) Food Science and Technology. And went to Guru Nanak Dev University and completed MSc Food Technology in 2021. During the master’s Thesis project, I gained my interest the research filed and started working on development of modified textured functional food for dysphagia patients. In the year of 2021, qualified national eligibility test (eligibility for assistance professorship) conducted by agricultural scientists recruitment board (ASRB-Net). After completing postgraduate, the interest in food research and exploring undermined facts in food science and technology, in dec 2021, I joined as Junior Research Fellow, in a collaborative project of SLIET and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC). During this project I explored the potential applications of AI-technology in food quality evaluation and developed certain methods to determine the adulteration and authenticity of Indian honey. Being a core food researcher, I believe that the AI-technology can bring a drastic change in the food quality assurance and control sector. Opting this filed and exploring different AI-based methods to develop sensors to determine the adulteration in food products, I started my doctoral degree to develop and validate AI-based methods to detect adulteration in food products with improved accuracy.
